Physical Therapy Evaluation

A  physical therapy evaluation is the first step in assessing the mobility of a patient to determine a working diagnosis and a plan of care. At the end of the evaluation, the pt will have a good understanding of why they hurt or are unable to perform a specific task as it relates to strength, joint range of motion, and neuromuscular function. Also, the patient will have a good idea of how many physical therapy sessions will be required to restore their health. Lastly, the patient will be educated on a home exercise program.
